A fan sent this story to me. I could only watch 10 seconds and turned it off. Right away you can see that the trainers are out of control, pulling on the dog with not one but two leads. Reminds me of people trying to capture wild animals for the circus. No matter what the dog does he cannot relieve the tension on him. He is basically a canine straight jacket. That do is now traumatized.
I would never leave my dog along with a trainer. The reason is that the majority of people are not in control of themselves in normal situations. The reason they are being trained is to get them to do something, often something they have never done before or may not want to do. Most people naturally respond with anxiety and frustration to any sort of resistance. At this point they can become angry, and they have a lead in their hand. Very quickly that can turn into your dog getting choked. If they respond with a nip which is the natural reaction of any dog under extremes stress, they may end up striking and kicking them. I don’t even raise my hand to a dog for any reason. I also don’t yell. Many here can tell you that even when I get bit, I do not lose my composure or punish the dog. If I did, how could I possible train them. Dogs feed of of stability and if you don’t have it then go flip burgers, but don’t be a “dog trainer”.
The reality is that many people do this every day to their own dogs that they “love”. How will someone react behind closed doors with a dog they don’t own when they are in a bad mood or the dog “provokes them”. Just look at what people do to other people’s children when they are not around. It is very easy to end up with dog that is traumatized, and you will never know why. I personally just don’t understand how someone can drop their dog off somewhere. I don’t train dogs, I train people. There is nothing you could do to your car to make you a better driver. Even a small child could let you know what was going on. What’s a dog going to do? They are going to come home and bite someone when they are triggered by the experience…that’s what. Abused people and animals attack others, seldom will it be the person who inflicted the abuse.
What these two did, should be done to them. I’ll take the lead.
