What can you do in just an hour?

It makes sense that one of the most common questions we get is, “What do you in an hour appointment?” Well, here is the answer.

Lisa books all my appointments and puts them on my calendar with all pertinent information including the behaviors that you would like corrected. That’s good information to have, but the truth is the root of all bad behaviors is the fact that people talk to their dog too much (at the wrong time) and move with them too little.

The Pack Walk– I hook your pup up to a 15 foot lead with an Immediate Correction Lead which is included in the appointment, and walk out the door with them behind me. All dogs are looking for a leader, so they follow. A magical transformation takes place during the Pack Walk because when you stop talking to them they begin to focus on you. I do it and then have you do it.

Loose Leash Walk– We take off the long lead and attach a regular 6 foot lead and again without saying anything, we start walking and the dog follows. With a few corrections, your dog will be walking on a loose lead.

Focus Drill– Sometimes we do it inside, sometimes out. We show you how to command your dog to stay without saying a word and further explain why it works. Then we have you do it. Since this is the longest your dog has ever heard you not speak to them, they are now focused on you. Dogs are not designed to focus, so by forcing them to do so, they become mentally exhausted. A mentally exhausted dog is a good dog.

Behavior Modification– Now that we have hit the Cntrl/Alt/Delete button on your pup using canine and not human communication, we address the reasons why you called. Now that you speak dog, it is easy to get across to your dog what you don’t want them to do, or more importantly what you want them to do instead.

Wrap up– There is usually lots of smiles, hugs, and picture taking. I explain how Lisa will send you a follow up e-mail with a link attached with the notes from everything we covered and more. Then people ask about when they should schedule another appointment. I explain how 85% of our clients only need one session and that the two most common exceptions are when there is aggression involved, or they don’t follow up on what we taught them and people it up, instead of dogging it up.

What makes us happy is not when someone makes another appointment, but rather contacts us about how much progress they have made using our Focus Based Canine Training.

We are different from other trainers in many ways, but the biggest is we don’t want to sell you “packages” costing hundreds of dollars if we can help you in an hour. We grow from word of mouth and want to do for your family and friends what we did for you.

Here are the most common behaviors we fix-

Pulling on the leash

Barking

Jumping

Chewing

Counter surfing

Stealing food

Aggression- food, dog, people

So that’s what you can expect from us. Give us an hour to show you why we are the best at what we do. Be Blessed- George
